A North Shore Pool Surround with Long Island Sound Views
The waterfront view from this Bayville, NY property is spectacular, and it deserved a pool surround to match. The challenge was designing an elegant outdoor space that complements the view instead of competing with it. Our team used clean lines and richly textured Techo-Bloc materials to create a pool area, outdoor kitchen and walkway that frame the water beautifully.
Techo-Bloc Travertina Pool Surround
The pool surround is built with Techo-Bloc Travertina pavers in Ivory, and the pool coping is Techo-Bloc Bali Travertina in Ivory. The light, travertine-style finish stays cool and bright in the sun and blends with the sky and water beyond. A softly curved seating wall frames the stately pool, with room for rows of lounge chairs looking out at the Sound.
Retaining Walls, Seating Walls and Columns
The seating walls, retaining walls, built-in planter boxes and columns are built with Techo-Bloc Mini-Creta Architectural wall stone in Chestnut Brown and capped with Techo-Bloc York Cap in Ivory. The warm brown stone adds contrast to the ivory pavers and gives the design a rich, layered texture.
Outdoor Kitchen Under a PVC Pergola
The fully stocked outdoor kitchen features a built-in BBQ, granite countertops and bar seating, all shaded by a white PVC pergola. It is the perfect hub for entertaining, with a dining area right alongside and the water in full view.
A Walkway Down to the Beach
Curved steps built with Techo-Bloc Maya step slabs in Rock Garden Brown lead from the pool level down a landscaped slope to the beach. Kichler landscape lighting throughout keeps the steps and patio safe at night, and layered landscaping softens the slope. Out front, a paver driveway with a cobblestone border completes the property.
The Result
The finished pool surround frames the view of Long Island Sound instead of distracting from it. Light ivory pavers keep the space bright, the Chestnut Brown walls add warmth and texture, and the pergola kitchen gives the homeowners a shaded place to cook and entertain. From the driveway to the beach, every part of this property now matches the quality of its setting.
