A Chic Backyard Haven Built for Cooking and Hosting
Chefs and hosting enthusiasts thrive in this backyard on Long Island, NY. The homeowners wanted a space where they could barbecue, dine and relax with friends well into the evening. Our team designed three separate gathering spaces connected by a winding paver walkway, all built on a light, softly toned Techo-Bloc paver patio.
A Full Stacked Stone Outdoor Kitchen
The centerpiece for the cooks is an L-shaped outdoor kitchen finished in stacked stone veneer, with a built-in stainless grill, storage drawers and a food prep area. A contrasting paver inlay frames the kitchen area on the patio, setting it apart from the rest of the space. There is room here for a full bar setup for large groups or intimate parties.
A Fire Table for Evening Conversation
A stacked stone fire table with fire glass anchors the lounge area, surrounded by an outdoor sectional and chairs. It welcomes guests to gather around the fire long after the sun goes down and into the cooler months.
Multiple Levels and Dining Areas
Our designers used multiple levels to blend the patio with the existing landscape. Guests follow the stone walkway up to the dining area and steps at the back door, and two dining sets give the family flexibility for different size gatherings. A contrasting border inlay runs through the patio to add structure to the large open space.
Manicured Plantings and Planters
Neatly kept landscaping with flowering sedum and shrubs lines the patio edges, and large ceramic planters with boxwoods add a finished, polished touch. The greenery softens the light pavers and makes the space feel like a true backyard haven.
