LUXURY BY THE WATER

Long Island Poolscape with Sprawling Views of the Bay

Luxury by the Water on Long Island

Set just feet from the bay, this Long Island property now has a multi-tiered poolscape where family and friends can swim, dine and lounge with waterfront views. The project includes a freeform pool and hot tub, three stone waterfalls and an expansive outdoor dining area, all designed to work with the natural curve of the property.

A Freeform Pool Shaped to the Property

The pool was sculpted to follow the natural curve of the land. A round hot tub sits along one side, and a large natural stone diving board anchors the head of the pool. Cobblestone Techo-Bloc Antica and 6×9 Hera stone border the pool, adding texture and a clean outline to the water’s edge.

Three Stone Waterfalls

Stacked stone waterfalls rise along the back of the pool, spilling water in three places and framing the view of the bay beyond. The sound of the water adds to the relaxed feel of the space, and the stone ties the poolscape to the natural surroundings.

Techo-Bloc Aberdeen Paver Patio

The winding patio is built with Techo-Bloc Aberdeen pavers in soft tans and grays. Our designers added a raised stone seating area right at the back door with curved steps, so there is an easy flow from the house to the patio. From there, guests move toward the pool’s edge, where there is plenty of room for lounge chairs and umbrellas overlooking the water.

Landscaping with Color and Local Plantings

On one side of the design, landscaping balances the layout with bright pops of color alongside local trees and shrubs. The plantings blend into the curve of the patio and soften the hardscape so the whole backyard feels natural and calm.

The Result

By working with the natural curve of the property instead of against it, this poolscape feels like it has always been part of the shoreline. The family gets a hot tub, a diving board, three waterfalls and a dining area, all with the bay as a backdrop. The soft tan and gray pavers keep the look relaxed and coastal, and the raised seating area at the back door makes the trip from the house to the pool effortless.
