This Sayville, NY property had a pool, a wide open lawn and a house with great bones. What it was missing was the hardscape to tie it all together. Our team delivered a complete outdoor living upgrade built entirely with Cambridge pavers: a Bluestone Blend pool deck, a raised paver patio with Onyx Natural walls, a bordered driveway apron, bluestone stepping stones through fresh sod and new landscaping from one end of the yard to the other.
A Bluestone Blend Pool Deck with Clean, Modern Lines
The pool surround is Cambridge Bluestone Blend in large 2×3 slabs. Going big on the paver size keeps joint lines to a minimum, so the deck reads as one calm, continuous surface that matches the crisp rectangle of the pool. The water’s edge is finished with 12×24 Bluestone Blend coping in the same color, which gives the whole deck a seamless, custom look without the upkeep of natural stone.
A Raised Patio with Onyx Natural Walls and a Coal Inlay
Right off the house, a raised patio creates a second outdoor room for dining and relaxing. The walls are built with Cambridge Onyx Natural Old English Wall in a smooth finish, and both the walls and the steps are topped with 13×27 Onyx Natural caps for a clean, finished edge. A 4.5×9 Coal inlay borders the patio surface, outlining the space and pulling in the darker tones of the wall stone. Planting beds built into the walls frame two Japanese maples that shade the patio in summer and bring great color in the fall.
Bluestone Stepping Stones, Fresh Sod and Landscaping
Instead of a solid walkway, 2×2 Natural Bluestone stepping stones cut across the lawn and connect the patio, the pool and the rest of the property with a softer, more relaxed feel. New sod went down across the yard, and tall arborvitae now line the pool fence for privacy. The beds are filled with hydrangeas and low plantings over dark mulch, so the hardscape feels softened and settled in from day one.
A Driveway Apron with a Double Border
The finishing touch is the driveway apron, laid in Cambridge Ledgestone Bluestone Blend (Regular) with a double border of Onyx Natural and Coal. It carries the same color story from the backyard out to the driveway, so the entire property looks like one well-planned project instead of a collection of separate jobs.
